Trips to the Middle Rhine
| This day trip is especially suitable
for our foreign guests, who wish to get away from the ordinary tourist
paths to visit the worldfamous UNESCO world heritage.
In addition to the cultural highlights (like the
famous cathedral of Cologne), the guests will also visit Bonn,
the Ahrtal, the bridge of Remagen and Linz. Furthermore, at the
end of the day, there will be a traditional winetasting in Leutesdorf.

Düsseldorf or Cologne
are good places to start this tour. Depending on the chosen place
to start, we will begin with the visit of the cathedral of Cologne
and will go on to Bonn afterwards. Just a few kilometres away,
the former guest house of the FRG, the Petersberg, offers a magnificient
view over the Rhine valley.
During the whole tour, a competent guide will accompany the guests and will give interesting and entertaining information about the history, the landscape, the inhabitants and the viticulture of the region. Then, our trip goes on to the bridge of Remagen, a peace memorial of the First World War, and to Linz, the "colourful city at the Rhine". Your guide will explain to you why this city got its nickname not until the 19. century... |

|
After a short walkabout
through the mediaeval city, the trip will continue a few more
km to the south until you reach the ancient wine village Leutesdorf.
A nice alternative to the trip via bus is the trip via
boat which can be arranged for you. This exclusive tour would
take approx. 30 minutes and would be another highlight of the
day trip.

Here in Leutesdorf, the guests will participate
in a traditional winetasting at one of the best vintagers of the
region. Moreover, they will get to know more about the topic viticulture,
grape-vines, wine production and, of course, the final product:
the wine itself!
![]() At this vineyard, which was built in the 16th century, you can also have a traditional Rhenish snack or a typical dinner with homemade products of the region. On the opposite side of the Rhine, close to Andernach, you will soon be able to see the biggest cold water geyser of the world! |
|
|
Depending
on how long the winetasting will take, it would be possible to
stop at the lake "Laacher See" on the way back. Here,
you could visit the impressive Benedictine abbey of the 12. century.
Another alternative would be a trip through the Ahrtal with its
famous red wines. If we catched your interest with this attractive offering, we
would be pleased to send you a more detailed offering! Just contact
